Established during the First World War, Alberta Avenue is one of Edmonton’s oldest communities. Its boundaries form a rectangle, with 111 Avenue and 97 Street serving as the southern and western borders, 122 Avenue as the northern border, and 89 Street as the eastern border.

In 2015, community newsletter Rat Creek Press ranked Alberta Avenue as the second-best area in Edmonton for property investment. The community continues to thrive, with the Alberta Avenue Community League and Arts on the Ave hosting year-round events and festivals.
